Come dig with us! The 14th Annual Sand Sculpture Festival will be held this year on Sunday, June 20, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Manila Dunes Recreation Area. This exciting event draws over 1500 spectators to the beach each summer and supports Friends of the Dunes education programs right here in Humboldt County.
Proceeds from this year's festival will support the Bay to Dunes Education Program, now in its 13th year.
Your business is invited to form a team, gather shovels and buckets, and enjoy a day at the beach with us. You'll compete for the coveted Golden Shovel Award --- a trophy awarded to the business-sponsored team judged the best by local celebrity judges. As a winner, your company's name will be permanently engraved on the trophy and will be yours to display in your place of business for the following year. You can view this traveling trophy in Arcata, at Japhy's Soup and Noodles, the 2008 Business Sponsor Winner.
