Friends of the Dunes is dedicated to conserving the natural diversity of coastal environments in Humboldt County, California, through community supported education and stewardship programs.
The Humboldt Coastal Nature Center is open Wednesday - Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Join Friends of the Dunes volunteers for some light weeding and landscaping around the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center! Volunteers will remove easy-to-pull annual grasses while enjoying ocean and bay views from the Nature Center.
Help restore the dune ecosystem at the Lanphere Dunes Unit of the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Volunteers will be removing invasive plant species to make room for native plant diversity.
Join a Friends of the Dunes naturalist for a guided tour of the beatiful Lanphere Dunes Unit of the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Participants will be eligible for an access permit after the walk.
